So far, the month of April 2019 was generally a very good weather flying month for Leading Edge obviously due to the onset of the summer season. As such, today, April 16, 2019, a Tuesday is the last flying day for the week in view of the long Holy Week official holiday break starting tomorrow, Holy Wednesday. Apparently, it is also today that the first member of the 13 strong Batch 2019-02, Student Pilot Ranni Bien Abelarde Bernales, a good looking stratospheric 20 year old Las Piñas City resident and a product of Mapua University, BS Psychology graduate made it as the 1st Soloist this morning.

This coming April 22, 2019 or exactly one (1) week from now will be the opening of the 4th ground schooling for Private Pilot License (PPL) Course this year as well as the Instrument Rating (IR) Course. Currently, a total of 48 new student pilots have finished the Ground schooling and are now actively flying in our two (2) training hubs in La Union and Vigan. Likewise, a significant number are also flying and are now on the process of finishing the different levels of their flight training program (CPL, IR, FIC and Build-up time). Meanwhile, before the Holy Week break, a very young and daring, small but terrible female eaglet of Batch 2019-01, it’s 13th member to have soloed, Student Pilot Jill Valeña Bonavente, 20 years old, BS HRM graduate of Asian School of Hospitality Arts is the latest 1st Soloist this month.

As expected, two (2) of the newly reported flightless eaglets at LEIAAI’s Pilot training hub successfully achieved their first solo flights on a weekend, a Friday and a Saturday, the peak of the Annual Sillag Festival celebration hosted by the Poro Point Management Corporation (PPMC). Last Friday, April 5, 2019 on an unusually cloudy weather condition, Student Pilot John Henry Mendoza Tan, a dashing 22 year old native down south of Cagayan de Oro City and a BS Civil Engineering graduate of De La Salle University, Manila soloed on or about 0925H courtesy of Capt RJ Tejada on board RP-9459.
