So far, the month of April 2019 was generally a very good weather flying month for Leading Edge obviously due to the onset of the summer season. As such, today, April 16, 2019, a Tuesday is the last flying day for the week in view of the long Holy Week official holiday break starting tomorrow, Holy Wednesday. Apparently, it is also today that the first member of the 13 strong Batch 2019-02, Student Pilot Ranni Bien Abelarde Bernales, a good looking stratospheric 20 year old Las Piñas City resident and a product of Mapua University, BS Psychology graduate made it as the 1st Soloist this morning. Incidentally, SP Ranni Bernales was released for 1st Solo Flight flying RP-C7843 on or about 0925H by the very capable Senior FI, Capt RJ Tejada in just 12.7 flying hours before solo, an outstanding feat indeed. With his personal desire to fulfill his dream to become a certified commercial airline pilot, he intensively focused and flew with passion and commendably achieved it with flying colors. Thus, with this initial feat, the brand new 1st soloist for the day is now officially included in the increasing certified short list of the young and daring flightless eaglets cleared for safe takeoff purposely to explore and conquer the infinite vastness of the horizon as well as the clear blue skies of San Fernando Airport, La Union and Vigan, the breeding grounds for the Leading Edge Corps of future Aviation Professionals! Obviously, flying runs in the veins of today’s 1st Soloist as his father Capt Dominador R. Bernales Jr. is a member of the Aviation Cadet, Flying School Class ‘90 and was a former combat helicopter pilot in the Philippine Air Force.
Once again, the Leading Edge family is proud to welcome and extend our congratulations to Student Pilot Ranni Bien Bernales for attaining the highlight of a pilot’s career, the most unforgettable“1st Solo Flight”. Just bear in mind, that it is just the beginning of a long and winding flight plan in your quest for a successful career in the aviation industry! Same distinction as well to the proud and very supportive parents. Happy flying and have a Safe Flight always! Cheers & God bless!
