First Solo Flight of Student Wilbur Airon Kerby Jacob Artiaga

A very young and daring flightless eaglet of the February batch, Student Pilot Wilbur Airon Kerby Jacob Artiaga, 21 years old, BS Marketing graduate of Far Eastern University, Diliman and a resident of P. Tuazon, Cubao is the 1st Soloist for the day after the long holiday lull. The dashing SP Wilbur Artiaga successfully attained the most significant event of a pilot’s career this clear Monday morning on or about 0900H, April 22, 2019 on board Cessna 172M, RP-C7834 courtesy of the Operations Officer, Capt Philmer Powao. Apparently, the brand new 1st Soloist, whose first name is historically significant cognizant of the famous Wright brothers, Orville and Wilbur, two American aviation pioneers credited with inventing, building and flying the world’s first successful airplane. SP Wilbur Artiaga may have personally aspired and dignified his prominent namesake by achieving his 1st Solo Flight commendably in just 11.32 flying hours despite flying a week ago, an outstanding airmanship indeed! Incidentally, the 1st Soloist for the day is the second member of the 13 strong Batch 2019-02 following his batchmate, SP Bernales who soloed last 16 April 2019 the last flying day before the Holy Week break. Thus, effective immediately, the brand new 1st Soloist may now file a clear flight plan that would jumpstart his very bright future in his dream of a lifetime career in aviation. In effect, SP Artiaga should internally practice the virtues of hard work, courtesy, discipline, positive attitude coupled with sheer guts and passion, all prerequisites to achieve a personal goal of becoming a full time certified Commercial Airline Pilot.
Once again, Congratulations to the 1st Soloist for the day, SP Wilbur ”Wright” Airon J. Artiaga for officially making it in the elite short list of bonafide flyboys duly authorized for safe takeoff to explore and conquer the infinite vastness of the horizon and clear blue skies of SFLU. Kudos as well to the very proud and supportive parents, well-done! Have a Happy and Safe Flight always! Cheers & God bless!
