First Solo Flight of Students David Joseph Nuguid, James William Bautista, and Sittie Bhasma Kahar

This Tuesday morning, April 9, 2019, it’s National Heroes’ Day and fortunately on a very clear weather, blue skies and calm wind condition another three (3) lucky batchmates achieved their respective 1st Solo Flights one after the other. Incidentally, the trio who come in different sizes and shapes are the 9th, 10th and 11th soloists of the 16 strong members of PPLBatch 19-01. Likewise, today was also a very memorable holiday for the 3 batchmates where primarily the hulk, heavyweight Student Pilot David Joseph Nuguid, a 32 year old Caloocan City resident flying RP-C8249, successfully made his 1st solo flight on or about 0900H courtesy of the charming female Senior Fl, Capt Leigh Bocita. Ten (10) minutes later, flying RP-C8054, a lightweight 21 year old SP James William Bautista, Mr. Slim from Gapan, Nueva Ecija followed suit on or about 0910H courtesy of the ruggedly handsome Senior FI, Capt Elcid Tolentino. The last, but not the least 1st soloist for the day was a petite and charming 26 year old lass, SP from Imus, Cavite who successfully made it on board RP-C7945 on or about 1245H courtesy of the very capable Capt JC Asuncion. Incidentally, the 3 brand new 1st Soloists for the day are graduates of prominent schools in Manila, SP Nuguid from De La Salle College of Saint Benilde, while SP Bautista and SP Kahar coming from the same school, PATTS College of Aeronautics with diverse courses; AB Consular Diplomatic Affairs, BS Avionics Technology and BS Aeronautical Engineering. Apparently, flying is basically a skill and does not delved on a select aviation courses alone but on any degree as long as the individual student has the right frame of mind, passion and interest.
Once again, Congratulations to the three (3) brand new 1st Soloists on the occasion of National Heroes Day for attaining the most unforgettable event of your early flying careers. Likewise, same accolades to the proud and very supportive parents, well done! Don’t forget that, this is just the beginning of a very tedious journey to your point of destination that will propel you to greater heights in your quest for a very bright future, glamorous and rewarding career in the aviation industry! Happy flying and have a Safe Flight always! Cheers & God bless!
