There is no stopping LEIAAI in it’s forward thrust to a grand take-off and airlift to the many wonders of flight training at San Fernando Airport, La Union, the Eagles’ Nest, home-sanctuary of our young aviators. Ironically, by Divine Providence, the upsurge of enrollees for pre-solo student pilots starting January 2018 have become the trend in our training hub, translating to a sustained mode as far as flight training is concerned. Of course, all of these young and daring flightless eaglets will try to be counted in the elite list of future commercial airline pilots and fulfill their dream of a lifetime! Before the onset of the rainy season according to the weather forecast of Pagasa, the school have logged a total of 1,743.02 flying hours this May 2018, the highest flying time in a month in its 10 years of operations, a distinct historical record indeed. Likewise, the recent inclusion of the 4 newly acquired Cessna 172s in our training fleet will obviously keep the school on its toes as far as momentum in flight training is concerned. Thus, today, on a clear and bright sunny morning on or about 0935H, a young and daring 24 year old lass from San Pedro, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, Student Pilot Mabelle Charina Baaco Abordo made it as the 1st Soloist for the month of June 2018. The Cuyunon 1st Soloist for the day, who’s a graduate of Aircraft Maintenance Technician Course, FEATI University, flying RP-C8056, was confidently released for 1st solo by Senior FI, Capt Rets Moon Briones in just 16.8 flying hours before solo. Apparently with this sterling feat, SP Mabs Abordo may now be included in the growing elite short list of future pilots coming from the beautiful & exotic province of Palawan, the Last Frontier. With this initial success by the brand new 1st Soloist for the day, it would mean strictly practicing by heart the virtues of discipline, patience and hard work as the main ingredients in strengthening her frail feathers and wingspan to eventually fulfill the most cherished dreams of every young aviator to be a certified commercial airline pilot!
