As expected, another one of the newly reported flightless eaglet at our flight school successfully accomplished her first solo flight with a bang! This morning, on a cloudy but fairly good weather condition on or about 0850H September 4, 2017, a 2nd member of Batch Foxtrot 2017, Student Pilot Sheena Thea Aguilar Alcantara fondly called En, on board Cessna 172M RP-C1300 made her 1st solo flight courtesy again of a newly upgraded Senior Flight Instructor, Capt Roche Carranza. Incidentally, the new 1st soloist has an identical twin sister named Er, both products of Manila Science High School and UP Manila, BS Biochemist and BS Biology graduates respectively and will now be included in the growing list of female aviators who will attempt to complete the course and come close to her dream of becoming a certified commercial pilot. Apparently, En who studies hard performed outstandingly well, the principal reason why releasing for 1st Solo wasn’t considered a difficulty by the assigned Senior FI. Obviously, flying runs in the blood of the new 1st soloist being the doting daughter of a seasoned veteran PAF and Airline pilot, Capt Egay Alcantara of PALEX. Moreover, subject student pilot attained the most significant feat of a pilot career by virtue of her discipline, hard work, enthusiasm and guts to make her dream come true in style. Thus, the brand new 1st Soloist may now be included in the short list of the young and daring eaglets ready for liftoff to explore and conquer the vastness of the horizon as well as the clear blue skies of San Fernando Airport, La Union, the home sanctuary of the Eagles’ Nest of Leading Edge.
Congratulations to the brand new 1st soloist for achieving the highlight and most unforgettable feat of a career in aviation, “1st Solo Flight”! Likewise, same accolades should also be extended to the very supportive and proud parents, Capt Egay and mom Thelma. Happy flying and have a Safe Flight always! CHEERS and God bless!✈️✌️️✨
