First Solo Flight of Student Saquing, Modequillo and Efren “Ace” Cauyan

This Monday morning, March 19, 2018, on a very clear weather day, blue skies and calm wind condition, 3 newly reported PPL student pilots of Batch “Alpha” 2018 achieved their respective 1st Solo Flights one after the other. It was a “Ladies First” 1st Solo Event wherein the charming female Student Pilot Michelle Jean Miranda Saquing, 20 year old lass from Las Pinas on board RP-C7857 made her 1st Solo Flight on or about 0900H courtesy of the Head of Pilot Training, Col Arnel Borres. 20 minutes later, flying RP-C7293, 23 year old SP Mark Daryl Balmes Modequillo from Marikina City followed suit on or about 0920H courtesy of Senior FI, Capt Philmer Powao. Likewise, the last, but not the least 1st Soloist for the day was another 20 year old SP Efren “Ace” Cauyan, from Puerto Princesa City, Palawan successfully made it flying RP-C7857 on or about 1100H courtesy again of Col Borres. Incidentally, the 3 brand new 1st soloists for the day are graduates of prominent schools in Manila, De La Salle University and San Beda College, with diverse courses, BA Pysychology, BS Nursing and BS Finance respectively, a far cry from the aeronautical courses related to career in flying. This goes to prove that flying is a skill and does not delved on a select aviation courses alone but on any degree as long as the individual student has the right frame of mind, passion and interest.
Congratulations to the three (3) 1st Soloists for the day for attaining the most unforgettable event of your early flying careers. Don’t forget that, this is just the beginning of a very tedious journey to your point of destination that will propel you to greater heights in your quest for a bright future in the aviation industry!
Happy flying and have a Safe Flight always! God bless and Cheers!
