First Solo Flight of Student Chrystel Natalie Cabahug Santos

At LEIAAI, the profile of the National Women’s Month Celebration have been proven on several occasions as far as flying skills, aptitude and performance are concerned. Just like this morning, on a generally crystal clear blue weather condition, on or about 0945H March 16, 2018, on board RP-C6923, the petite female Student Pilot Chrystel Natalie Cabahug Santos, 20 year old resident of Zamboanga and Marikina City and member of the 24 strong Batch Alpha 2018, successfully accomplished her 1st Solo Flight. Attaining the most coveted feat in her early flying career by soloing in just 12.7 flying hours courtesy of Senior FI, Capt JC Asuncion is one memorable achievement of a lifetime. The very young and good-looking girlish 1st Soloist for today, who’s a BS Nursing graduate of Ateneo de Zamboanga University, impressed the designated checker with her display of inherent skills and outstanding performance especially the safe and smooth touchdowns during the very critical takeoffs and landings. Apparently flying runs in the blood of SP Chrystel, being the dotting grand daughter of BGen Honorato B Santos AFP (Ret), a member PAFFS Class 76 and a former veteran combat pilot of the 15th Strike Wing, PAF. Thus, effective today, our brand new 1st Soloist may now proceed braving in exploring and conquering the infinite vastness of the horizon as well as the clear blue skies of SFLU, where the home sanctuary of the Eagles’ Nest is located. Likewise, she would need to strictly adhere to personally practice the culture of discipline, hard work, perseverance, courtesy, integrity and professionalism expected in the very glamorous and rewarding career in the aviation industry.
Once again, congratulations SP Chrystel Santos for attaining the most memorable event in your early flying career, the unforgettable “1st Solo Flight”. Kudos as well, to the loving and proud parents in fully supporting the dream and aspirations of their young and daring daughter. Happy flying and have a Safe Flight always! Cheers and God bless!
