Leading Edge Updates: On a crystal clear blue sky weather this morning, on or about 10:47 am, January 27, 2021, Capt Vladimir Evangelista, the ruggedly handsome Head of Training himself, released the 1st Soloist not only for the day and month but for Calendar Year 2021. It was a very memorable day for our young and daring lady eaglet, the baby-faced and charming Palawan-born Student Pilot Victoria Isabel Santos Mendoza for successfully achieving her 1st Solo Flight with a bang on board Cessna 172M RPC-7530. The very lucky 1st Soloist for the day was properly honed and trained by very competent senior flight instructors, Capt Philmer Powao as well as the VP for Operations, Capt Boyet Salvosa before submitting her over to Capt Evangelista for check before solo. The petite and cute 1st Soloist who’s now a resident of Merville, Parañaque City is a product of De La Salle College of Saint Benilde with a degree program in AB Consular and Diplomatic Affairs. Likewise, she was a former flight attendant of LEASCOR before getting the only scholarship grant for 2020 from ACDI Multi Purpose Cooperative, the sole owner of the prestigious flight school.
The Leading Edge family as well as ACDI MPC would like to extend its heartfelt congratulations to Isay for attaining the most significant event in her early flying career, the unforgettable 1st Solo Flight! Just don’t forget that you’re still distant miles away from reaching your point of destination and it will be a long and winding flight plan, full of ups and downs, climb and climbing turns, straight and level flights, airworks, power on and off stalls, emergency procedures, series of takeoffs and landings, etc… Have a happy and safe flight always!
