There is no stopping the Christmas Season holidays as well as the normal tempo of flight training operations of LEIAAI at its hub in San Fernando Airport, La Union. Thus, on a bright sunny morning today, on or about 0930H, 11 December 2017, a very young 20 year old De La Salle University, BS Business Management graduate, Student Pilot Patrick Kylle Macasaet Castillo of Bagong-Pook, Lipa City, Batangas successfully made his 1st Solo Flight flying RP-C6923. After more than a 2 week lull in soloing, the brand new 1st soloist, a member of Batch “Hotel” 2017 was released by Senior FI, Capt Elcid Tolentino in just 12.1 Flying Hours before solo, considered impressive for pre-solo students. SP Patrick Castillo is now among the growing elite list of Leading Edge’s De La Salle University graduates as well as the increasing number of flyboys from Lipa City. Apparently, subject 1st soloist as well as his other batchmates will most likely complete their PPL Phase before the Christmas break to savor and enjoy the perks of the holiday season.
