There is no way of stopping the momentum of releasing our flight school’s young and daring flightless eaglets for 1st solo flights at the training haven of Leading Edge’s Eagles’ Nest in San Fernando Airport, La Union! Fortunately, due to the prevailing good weather condition despite the onset of the rainy season in the coming days, our Area of Responsibility (AOR) remains conducive for flight training as a result of the unlimited horizon as well as crystal clear blue skies setting! Once again this morning, on or about 0950H and 1005H, June 5, 2018, two (2) very lucky young members of Batch “B” & “C” 2018, Student Pilots, Larry Ace Calingasan Pineda, 21 years old from Las Pinas City and Brian Tejada Dumael, 17 years old from San Juan, Batangas successfully achieved their respective 1st Solo Flights courtesy of the newly designated Head of Pilot Training , the jolly and well-liked Capt Vlad Evangelista and Senior FI, Capt JC Asuncion! Following the 2 female student pilots, SP Mabs Abordo and SP Mela Franco, who earlier soloed the previous 2 days, both 1st Soloists for today successfully flew RP-C8249 and RP-C6923 respectively with extreme caution to safely maneuver and land both aircraft intact and in one piece.
Once again, congratulations to both SP Ace Pineda and SP Brian Dumael for attaining the highlight and dream of every young aviator, the most coveted and unforgettable “1st Solo Flight”, effectively making it in the elite short list of certified flyboys of Leading Edge. Kudos as well to the proud and very supportive parents! As a food for thought for both the young and daring eaglets; “Always remember, that this is just the beginning of your continuous flying lessons, air works, climb and climbing turn maneuvers, numerous power on/off stalls, navigation flights as well as touch and gos. Knowledge, skills, guts coupled with the more essential basic elements of discipline, hard work and dedication will propel you to greater heights in your quest for a very bright future in the aviation industry!” Happy flying and have a Safe Flight always! God bless and Cheers!
