First Solo Flight of Student Pilot Chingcuangco, Reyes, Mariano and Gaviola

After a long lull in 1st solo flights at our training hub, yesterday, 14 February 2018, Valentine’s Day, Student Pilot Luis Inigo Gregorio Perlada made it as the lucky 1st Soloist for the month. Subject pre-solo student who successfully soloed on or about 0850H courtesy of Capt JC Asuncion, is from San Juan City and a product of San Beda College, Marketing Management graduate. Likewise, today, 15 Feb 2018, four (4) of his batchmates, also made it as 1st soloists in succession despite the strong gusty wind condition brought about by Amihan. On record, today will be remembered in LEIAAI’s 10 year history as the most number of 1st soloists in just 1 day. First to do it, is SP Pio Angelo Martinez Chingcuangco from Pasig City and a graduate of UST, Fine Arts & Design courtesy of Capt Philmer Powao on or about 0930H, followed 10 minutes later on or about 0940H by SP Martin Lorenzo Sanchez Reyes from Marikina and a product of De La Salle University, BS Financial Management courtesy of Capt Vlad Evangelista. While on or about 1125H, SP Ethan Cedric Zaula Mariano from Lipa City, product of PATTS College of Aeronautics followed suit courtesy again of Capt Philmer Powao. And again, 10 minutes later, on or about 1135H, SP King Harold Lim Gaviola of Las Pinas and a Med Tech graduate of San Juan De Dios Educational Foundation finally soloed courtesy again of Capt Vlad Evangelista. Incidentally, all the 5 first soloists who arrived in full force 2 weeks ago at LEIAAI’s Eagles’ Nest are members of Batch “India” 2017, considered as LEIAAI’s Last of the Mohicans.
Congratulations to the latest five (5) 1st soloists for the month of February 2018 for attaining the most significant event in their early flying careers, “1st Solo Flight”! Effective immediately, they are now fully certified and authorized to takeoff to the high heavens, explore and conquer the vastness of the horizon as well as the clear blue skies of San Fernando Airport, La Union.
