Thank God it’s Friday! It has been a very busy week at the Eagle’s Nest for Leading Edge’s young and daring eaglets where, soloing-in-tandem had become a routine activity at Poro Point, San Fernando Airport, SFLU! Again, this morning, 0845H, May 12, 2017, Student Pilot John Victor Danan Calip, son of the current Defense Attache based in Washington DC, BGen Eric Calip AFP, a FAB Brat from Lipa City and a graduate of La Salle College of St Benilde, Manila, successfully achieved his 1st Solo Flight followed on or about 1030H by SP Mark Ferdinand Tumale De Torres of Talisay, Batangas & a product of Lyceum. Incidentally, both students were released for solo by the Head of Pilot Training himself, Chief Flight Instructor Col Arnel Borres and flying the same aircraft tail nr. RP C1300, one of the most dependable and favorite trainer aircraft among student pilots. Effective immediately the two (2) 1st soloists for the day are now officially certified and authorized to explore and conquer the vastness of the horizon as well as the clear blue skies of SFLU!
