Currently, this situation translates to the rapid acceleration in soloing that have benefited most of our increasing number of pre-solo students when it comes to the desired rate in our flight training program. Thus, just like this morning, two (2) PPL presolo student pilots took advantage of this situation and successfully achieved the highlight of their early flying careers, the 1st Solo Flight. Initially, this morning, flying RP-C8061 on or about 0845H, April 3, 2019, a newly retired Lt Colonel in the PAF, 43 year old Student Pilot Elias Padit Nacaytuna fondly called Nacky Nacks by close friends who hails from Tacloban City and a BS Education graduate of Xavier University and Ateneo de Cagayan as well as having a Masteral Degree in Information Technology at the Asian Development Foundation College. Again, an hour later, on or about 0950H, flying RP-C7906, a very young 21 year old Taguig resident and a BS Transportation graduate of PATTS College of Aeronautics, SP Louise Gabrielle Esguerra Flores followed suit in just 13.7 flying hours. The two (2) 1st Soloists representing the school’s old and young flightless eaglets this Wednesday, are the 5th and 6th members of Batch 19-01 to have commendably achieved the coveted feat of successfully soloing respectively courtesy of Capt Retz Moon Briones and the newly upgraded Senior FI, Capt Robert Durano. Henceforth, officially, the two (2) brand new 1st Soloists for today are now duly certified members in the elite short list of Leading Edge’s young and daring eaglets cleared for safe takeoff to explore and conquer the clear blue skies as well as the infinite vastness of the horizon of San Fernando Airport, La Union. Moreover, the lucky duo may now proceed with the series of flight missions, maneuvers, airworks, power-off stalls, touch and go’s, cross country navigation, instrument flying as well as plotting a flight plan to a very glamorous and lucrative career in the aviation industry.
