As projected, another young and daring flightless eaglet at LEIAAI training hub successfully achieved the highlight of a very bright career in aviation, 1st Solo Flight. On or about 0920H, December 12, 2017, despite the overcast of cloudy dark skies at the Poro Pt. Aerodrome, Student Pilot Stefan Kyle Francisco Bolante, 21 years old of Sta Cruz, Manila flying RP-C6932 made it as the 4th 1st Soloist of Batch Hotel 2017. The rare display of an outstanding flying skill, knowledge and guts obviously were the primary factors of Senior FI Capt Elcid “Butchoy” Tolentino to release the subject student for 1st Solo. Likewise, the 11.4 Flying Hours before solo is one for the books as far as performance wise for a presolo student is concerned. The brand new 1st Soloist is currently a 3rd Year college student of UST, Manila who, out of personal love and passion to fly, simultaneously enrolled at LEIAAI and hope to become a future commercial pilot one day. Incidentally, flying runs in the blood of the 1st Soloist, as his father, Capt Bod Bolante, a member of PAFFS Class 82, was a former veteran combat pilot of the 205th Helicopter Wing and now flying with Pure Gold in the General Aviation.
