Currently, our flight school was indeed fortunate to be a beneficiary of countless blessings from the high heavens – achieving flight training operations at a maximum capacity rate as far as our bold forecast is concerned. We were principally delighted with the prevalence of generally good weather condition due to the peak of the summer season. This situation resulted to positive variance on Flying Time in the early months of 2018 to date compared to the same period last year. It’s good that since January, the school was fortunate to have generated a total of 64 strong PPL as well as an equal number of CPL-IR student pilots. The significant number of enrollees are apparently good news and positive developments which are considerably greatly beneficial and good for the flight school in the long run. Furthermore, a substantial number of our PPL, CPL and IR student pilots successfully hurdled their respective check-rides with CAAP Flight Examiners for the period.
Incidentally, today, a 1st Friday, May 4, 2018, on or about 0920H, Student Pilot Romar Danielle Lucero Santiago, 21 years old resident of Lipa City, Batangas and a product of De La Salle University Lipa, graduate of BS Information Technology, attained the most significant event of a career in aviation, “1st Solo Flight” courtesy of Senior Flight Instructor Capt Retz Moon Briones flying RP-C8056. Subject student pilot who’s the 3rd member of the 20 strong Batch “B” 2018 was released for solo flight in just 14.9 flying hours, firming up his self-confidence and be officially counted among the present breed of Leading Edge’s young and daring eaglets with the primary objective: To explore and conquer the vastness of the horizon and the clear blue skies of San Fernando Airport, La Union, where the home sanctuary of the Eagles Nest of the Leading Edge is situated.
Once again, congratulations to our brand new 1st Soloist, SP Romar Santiago for reaching the pinnacle in flying and attaining the most significant event in a pilot’s career, the unforgettable “1st Solo Flight”.
