First Solo Flight of Student Pilot Michael Angelo Regondola Lana and Ricardo Louise Manzano Alarilla

The entire country is experiencing the peak of the summer season as declared by Pagasa which is good news in our overall flight training operations. At LEIAAI’s AOR (Area of Responsibility), the weather is always flyable these past weeks which is obviously very favorable as far as soloing is concerned, generally clear blue skies as well as wind calm condition. Currently, this situation translates to the rapid frequency in soloing that have benefited most of our pre-solo students when it comes to the desired standard rate in our flight training program. Thus, just like this morning, two (2) PPL presolo student pilots successfully achieved the highlight of their early flying careers, “1st Solo Flight”. Initially, this morning, on or about 0910H, April 26, 2018, a fresh graduate of Southville Foreign University, Student Pilot Michael Angelo Regondola Lana, a 24 year old native of Legaspi City, resident of Las Pinas and the 23rd member of the 24 strong Batch “A” 2018 was released for 1st Solo by Capt Elcid “Botchoy” Tolentino flying RP-C8054. Likewise, flying the same aircraft, a little later, 27 year old graduate of De La Salle University, Manila and a Meycauayan, Bulacan resident, SP Ricardo Louise Manzano Alarilla was released by Capt JC Asuncion on or about 1030H in just 10.7 flying hours before solo, an indication of high aptitude in flying skills. In fact, SP Alarilla is the 1st Soloist from the 20 strong Batch “B” 2018 who started reporting at our training hub early this month. Henceforth, officially, the 2 brand new 1st Soloists for today are now certified members in the elite list of Leading Edge’s young and daring eaglets cleared for takeoff to explore and conquer the wide horizon as well as the clear blue skies of San Fernando Airport, La Union. Moreover, the lucky duo may now proceed with the series of flight missions, maneuvers, airworks, power-off stalls, touch and go’s, cross country navigation as well as plotting a flight plan to a very glamorous and lucrative career in the aviation industry.
Once again, congratulations to Student Pilots Lana and Alarillo for successfully attaining a once in a lifetime feat, the unforgettable “1st Solo Flight”. Same goes to the very proud and ever supportive parents! Happy flying & have a Safe Flight always! Cheers & God bless!
