As projected, the remaining flightless eaglets of Batch Echo 2018 are dwindling to it’s minimum level as far as soloing is concerned. This morning, on or about 0920H, September 11, 2018, another one of its distinguished member, 34 year old Student Pilot Fernando “Poi” Mata Fuentes IV, who hails from Ozamiz City, presently residing in Marikina City and a graduate of Holy Name University, BS Nursing, successfully made it to the elite short list of 1st Soloists of LEIAAI this month. Flying Cessna 172M, RP-C7843 on a clear weather day and partly cloudy with RWY 190° in-use, subject student pilot performed exceptionally well, making safe and smooth landings during touch and go maneuvers which were primary factors that prompted his assigned checker, Senior FIight Instructor Capt RJ Tejada to release him for 1st Solo Flight. Thus, with this significant feat, the young and daring flightless eaglet is now duly authorized to safely takeoff, explore and conquer the unlimited airspace of the horizon as well as the clear blue skies of San Fernando Airport, La Union, the home sanctuary of the Eagles’ Nest.
Once again, congratulations SP Poi Fuentes IV for attaining the most sought-after goal in the most glamorous and rewarding career in the aviation industry, the unforgettable “First Solo Flight”! Likewise, kudos to the ever supportive and proud parents for believing in their son’s dream to become a commercial airline pilot in the very near future! Happy flying & have a SAFE Flight always! Cheers and God bless!✈✈✈✈✈✈✈✈
