Lady Luck must have really been smiling to one of the member of the 24 strong Batch Alpha 2018, Student Pilot Wilkinson Choa Taic Chan, 30 years old, resident of Ongpin, Binondo, Manila for attaining the most coveted achievement of an Aviator, the “First Solo Flight”. SP Wil Chan, on a bright clear weather morning today, flying RP-C8056, was released by his assigned Flight Instructor Capt Rets Moon Briones after 17.6 flying hours on or about 0900H March 27, 2018. The brand new 1st Soloist for the day who was geared to be a businessman having finished a degree in Manila Business College was fortunate that he was able to attain the exemplary feat of soloing before the official declaration of the Holy Week Festivities and long weekend break at Leading Edge. In effect, subject 1st Soloist for today ironically becomes the last soloist for the month of March 2018 and officially becomes a certified member in the elite list of the young and daring eaglets cleared to explore and conquer the vastness of the horizon as well as the clear blue skies of San Fernando Airport, La Union, the home sanctuary of the Eagles’ Nest of the Leading Edge.
