Just this morning, June15, 2016 on or about 9:20 am, Student Pilot Valentin Abarintos Macasaet VII, who hails from Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, a young behemoth from the latest Batch of Lucky 9, achieved the highlight of his early flying career, “1st Solo” in just 12.5 Flying Hours, courtesy of the very competent and Senior Flight Instructor Capt Philmer Powao. He successfully made his 1st solo flying RP-C6923, the most sought after trainer aircraft of our young breed of student pilots. Likewise, SP Val Macasaet is the 1st to solo among his Lucky 9 Batch which makes him a young aviator with special skills and talent as far as superior airmanship is concerned. Hence, officially, SP Macasaet is now a certified member of the elite flyboys of the Leading Edge’s young and daring eaglets out to explore and conquer the wide horizon as well as the open clear blue skies of the Eagles’ Nest, the home base of the Leading Edge at Poro Pt., San Fernando Airport, La Union.
