First Solo Flight of Student Pilot Erick Laroza Millama and Jhon Brian Jasmin Estacio

Last Saturday in Metro Manila is somewhat overcast and in contrast, the training hub at San Fernando Airport, La Union was as usual, crystal clear blue skies, a very safe feature conducive for flight training. Thus, on a bright sunny weekend, two (2) young and daring flightless eaglets of Leading Edge took advantage of this good flying weather by achieving the highlight of their early flying careers, the unforgettable 1st Solo Flight. Both solo achievers for the day, December 8, 2018 are members of the 19 strong Batch Hotel 2018. First to be released for 1st Solo Flight is a 24 year old native of San Jose, Batangas and a graduate of BS Information System of De La Salle College of Saint Benilde, Manila, Student Pilot Erick Laroza Millama, who made it on or about 0900H flying RP-C7669 courtesy of Capt Retz Moon Briones, who incidentally is from the same town and province. An hour later, on or about 1000H, a 21 year old from distant Tayabas, Quezon and product of PATTS College of Aeronautics, BS Air Transportation, SP Jhon Brian Jasmin Estacio successfully made it flying RP-C7843 courtesy of Capt RJ Tejada. Apparently, the duo are the 8th and 9th member respectively of their batch to make it in the elite short list of 1st Soloists, while, ten (10) are on deck to solo anytime soon this December 2018.
Once again, congratulations to the two (2) brand new 1st Soloists last weekend, batchmates Erick and Jhon Brian for successfully attaining the initial acid test in your quest to be future commercial airline pilots. Likewise, kudos as well to both the proud and very supportive parents. Have a Happy & Safe Flight always! Good luck & God bless! Cheers!
