The 1st Soloist for Calendar Year 2018 at our Training hub was realized this morning on or about 0930H, January 23, 2018. On a clear weather day, wind calm, Student Pilot Arbin Aquino Bagamaspad, a member of Batch “Hotel” 2017 flew a Cessna 172M, RP-C2211 with the desired skill and competence to convince his checker, Senior FI Vlad Evangelista to release him for 1st Solo flight without an inkling of doubt. Another student in the growing list of residents from Lipa City, Batangas and a graduate of BS Tourism Management, De La Salle University Lipa, the young, 23 year old 1st soloist, attained the highlight of his early flying career in just 12.5 flying hours before solo, a very bright indication of individual high aptitude in flight IQ. Incidentally, the early signs of flying skills must have come from the genes of his supportive dad, Capt Arnold Bagamaspad, a member of PAF Flying School Class 92, a former combat pilot of the 15th Strike Wing and currently flying with the Philippine Airlines. Likewise, another family sibling, SP Allyssa Marie, younger sister of Arbin and a batchmate is on deck to solo anytime soon.
Congratulations SP Arbin for successfully achieving the unforgettable feat, “1st Solo Flight”, as well as to the very proud and supportive parents, Arnold & Maria Sonia. Henceforth, effective immediately, the brand new 1st soloist for the day is now duly authorized to take-off, reach for the skies, explore and conquer the vastness of the horizon as well as the clear blue skies of San Fernando Airport, La Union. Happy flying and have a Safe flight always! Cheers & God bless!
