This Monday, was a Double Barrel Solo Achievement for two (2) batchmates of Delta Force 2018. First to successfully made it in the elite short list of the young and daring eaglets this morning, on or about 0930H, August 6, 2018 is a 27 year old registered nurse, a Chabacana from Zamboanga City, Student Pilot Crystal Kay Ramones Lebin, who proved that due diligence and hard work pays as she ably flew RP-C7530 and was undoubtedly released for 1st Solo Flight by Senior Flight Instructor, Capt Philmer Powao. Incidentally, the brand new female aviator who finished her BS Nursing at Western Mindanao State University is one of the select few fortunate direct ACDI member dependents who have qualified in ACDI’s Scholarship Program for Pilot Training. Two (2) hours later, on or about 1130H, 21 year old BS AMT graduate of Philippine State College of Aeronautics, SP Karl Arthur Aragon Sales, who hails within the traffic pattern of San Fernando, La Union and resident of Quezon City, flying the same aircraft, RP-C7530 was released for solo by the same checker, Capt Powao in just 11.1 flying hours, a commendable feat indeed. This early, SP Arthur Sales, a nephew of Gen Alex Yano, former AFP Chief of Staff made signs of inherent skills in flying proficiency which was even apparent during his simulator orientation training last month. With this latest achievement of a lifetime for both 1st soloists for today, effective immediately, they are now officially authorized for takeoff to safely explore and conquer the infinite vastness of the horizon as well as the clear blue skies of San Fernando Airport, La Union, where the Eagles’ Nest of LEIAAI’s flying eagles is located.
Congratulations SP Kay Lebin and SP Arthur Sales for attaining the most memorable event in your early flying career the most coveted “1st Solo Flight”.
